Post of the Week – Dec. 3 through Dec. 9

Recognizing the very best post of the week from our message board community of thousands of Cardinals fans the world over. The winner of this recognition receives a free four-week subscription to and all the other fine sites in the network.

As we do each and every week here at, we single out the best of the best - the "Post of the Week" from our Cardinals message board, this time for the week ending Saturday, December 9.

As opposed to last week when there was general excitement over the signings of Adam Kennedy and Kip Wells, this past week was tainted by the run at and loss of such free agents as Jason Schmidt. As often happens this time of year, the noise generated over frustrations due to an apparent lack of action by the general manager increase to a deafening level.

Yet, there was more than just complaining going on. For example, several recent additions to the Board offered some good ideas.

A very new poster, "johnstonburg", started a thread "Team Strategies This Offseason", in which he compared the approaches several highly-visible organizations are taking this off-season to fill their needs.

Even newer, in his first-ever post on our board, "photonblaster", asked the question "Can Molina carry his post-season offensive spurt into 2007?. That generated a very interesting discussion on the hitting prowess of the Cardinals backstop.

On the top of page two of a three page thread on "Duncan Trade?", regular "Bokonon2", looked at the streakiness of the Cardinals outfielder and used it to help set expectations for what the youngster might do (and not do). This thread has 54 replies and over 2700 views and is still running strong, thanks to informative posts like that one.

In recognition of a fine post that spawned many others, "Bokonon2", a repeat winner, collects another free four-week subscription to and all the other great sites in the network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
