As always, this article calls out the best of the best - the “Post of the Week” from our Scout.com Cardinals message board, this time for the week ending Saturday, October 7.
Several of the many fine threads from the Board are noted here. One important thread which I have not recognized fully in the past is what might be called the mother of all threads. I am talking about a big project started by fpslackers and embraced by the community, “Community Top 40 Cardinal Prospects”.
On the first page linked to above, you can see the list as it progresses, currently populated from numbers one through 25 and counting. Better yet, you can still join in the voting for the rest of players from here on out.
The thread is 31 pages long, with almost 16,000 views and growing. That is kind of hard to ignore. So, I will likely tab a few posters from this thread in upcoming weeks, starting with today.
Our winner this week has provided a number of quality posts apparently based on first-hand experience watching a number of these prospects in action. On page 30, for example, “JCInfo” presented some very articulate and well-thought out views of multiple prospects, including Juan Lucena, Donovan Solano, Thomas Pham, Brandon Buckman, Travis Mitchell and more.
This week’s honorable mention posters include an oldie, but goodie. That’s the post, not the poster. “OkieCardinal” originated a thread ”The Chicago Cubs Finished in Last Place – an essay” where we all could join in the celebration of another season of Chicago Cubs futility.
In recognition of several very fine posts, JCInfo wins a free four-week subscription to stlcardinals.scout.com and all the other great sites in the Scout.com network.
Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
