From an article in today's Sporting News -
‘Said the Giants' Steve Kline, who would love to be back in St. Louis playing for the Cardinals: "I was actually traded to St. Louis this winter for Ray King. It was a done deal, until Leo Mazzone said he didn't want King and vetoed it." But Kline seems to be doing just fine with San Francisco, even embracing his new role as a lefty specialist: "I had a tough three-pitch outing today. Hey, I might lead the league in appearances, but at least I'm leading it in something." ‘
