The message to
Cardinals fans hoping to see the Cardinals in action at the new Busch Stadium
during its inaugural 2006 season is simple: Buy your tickets
early.
With more than
three million tickets already committed for the coming season, just more than
500,000 tickets will be available when single game tickets go on sale at
9
a.m. on Saturday,
March 4. Tickets will go on sale at stlcardinals.com, by phone at
314/345-9000, and on location at Schnucks Markets and the Cardinals Team
Clubhouse Shops at St. Louis Union Station, the St. Louis Galleria and St. Clair
Square. There will be no stadium box office sales.
Party rooms and
picnic areas – the Bank of America Club and the Coca-Cola Scoreboard Patio – are
on sale now in advance of single game tickets going on sale March 4. Most
games are available, including some that are already standing room
only.
“The opening of
the new Busch Stadium means the demand for Cardinals tickets, and the scarcity
of tickets, have each never been greater in the history of the ballclub,” said
Cardinals President Mark Lamping. “We want our fans fully informed as to
what they can expect when tickets go on sale March 4, emphasize that fans should
buy early, and remind them that party rooms and tickets in picnic areas are on
sale now.”
Meanwhile, fans
interested in the Tuesday, April 4, exhibition game between the Springfield
Cardinals and Memphis Redbirds – can purchase tickets beginning at
10
a.m. this Saturday,
Feb. 25, at stlcardinals.com or by phone at 314/345-9000 (tickets for the
exhibition game will not be sold at Schnucks or Cardinals Team Clubhouse
locations). Tickets for the 6:10
p.m. game between
the Cardinals’ top-tier minor league affiliates are reserved and range from $10
to $20.
Of the more
than three million tickets committed for the Cardinals’ 2006 season,
approximately 2.2 million are dedicated to season ticket holders. For the
first time in club history, the Cardinals have closed the sale of season
tickets, which will account for approximately 27,500 tickets per game in
2006.
Roughly 300,000
tickets have been sold to groups, 117,000 sold in the form of four-game
packages, 86,000 sold in party areas and 120,000 committed to various club
obligations. The Cardinals have also dedicated approximately 170,000
tickets to charity this season.
“The Cardinals
are proud to continue our longstanding commitment to provide free tickets to
charitable organizations and kids throughout the area,” said Lamping. “In
addition to maintaining our free admission policy for the military, public
safety personnel, the clergy, and area amateur baseball coaches, we are
reserving over $4 million worth of free tickets for charitable groups and
deserving young Cardinals fans.”
The new stadium
offers more party rooms than ever before. Options
