Gagliano's Friday Farm Report

Memphis got back on the winning track, 8-5. Gissell went 7 ip, 7 h, 4 r, 0 bb, 8 K. I like those BB's and K's. Gonzalez was 2 of 3, Seabol, Berger, and Nelson 2 of 4. And Nelson's hits were both HR's. He's now up to an OBP of .408 and SLG of .554, both very, very nice numbers for anyone, but especially a SS. He's fanned a lot, 29 times to 83 AB. But he's also walked a lot, 13. I get the sense that he's having the patience to take a lot of pitches nnd swing at ones he likes, though that's inference on my part.

Springfield lost 2-1 as the bats got quiet again. Alvarez went 6 ip, 5 h, 2 r, 1 bb, 2 k. Nussbeck made his season debut a good one, 2 ip, 2 h, 0 r, 1 bb, 4 k. Estrada was 2 of 4.

Palm Beach was postponed again. The two games will be made up as back to back DH's in mid-June. Yow. Call up some extra arms then. I saw the report that in the Wednesday game, the bad guys got up 9-0 before the rain started in the second.

Quad Cities romped, 14-3. Dove had a very nice outing at 6 ip, 4 h, 1 r, 0 bb, 8 k. Patrick was 4 of 5 with 3 doubles and 5 RBI. Hammond, Mullinax, and Williams were each 2 of 4.
