Swing swap bullpen arms

04/27/05 - The Swing of the Quad Cities continued their bullpen shakeup Wednesday morning with another roster move. RHP Justin Brown was transferred to New Jersey at extended spring training. To fill his roster spot, RHP Quinton Robertson was transferred from New Jersey up to Quad Cities. Robertson will be available for action in tonight's ballgame.

Robertson, 23, was drafted by the Cardinals in the 44th round of the 2004 draft out of the University of Nebraska. The native of Mississippi spent his rookie campaign splitting time equally between Johnson City and New Jersey. Combined, the righty posted a 3-2 record in 13 appearances (12 starts) with a 3.78 ERA, 47 strikeouts, and only 13 walks.

Brown, who was signed in May of 2004 out of the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, had gotten off to a rough start early in 2005. In three appearances (2 starts) the righty only managed to complete 1.1 innings while walking eleven and yielding 14 runs. The 24-year-old will report to extended spring training.

The Swing roster currently stands at 25 men, the maximum allowed by the Midwest League. An updated roster follows this release.

UP NEXT: The Swing play the fifth game of their nine-game homestand against the Clinton LumberKings on Wednesday night, as lefty Eric Haberer (2-1, 0.92) gets the start for the Swing opposite righty Ace Walker (1-1, 1.56). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., and coverage on Progressive Talk AM 1270 will begin at 6:15
