The Swing begin a nine-game homestand on Saturday

SWING PRESS RELEASE

Friday night's scheduled game between the Swing of the Quad Cities and Kane County Cougars has been cancelled due to persistent rain in the Kane County area. Because it was the final scheduled meeting of the first half between the two teams, the game will not be made up.

The Swing have won the first three games of the series and four of their last five contests overall. With losses by Burlington and Peoria and a Swing win on Friday, Quad Cities would have moved into fourth place in the MWL-West.

The Swing begin a nine-game homestand on Saturday afternoon, as they begin a four-game series with the Dayton Dragons. Kyle McClellan (0-0, 4.50) will make the start against Homer Bailey (0-0, 6.75), the seventh-overall selection in last June's draft.

Pitching matchups for the series:

Saturday, 4:00 p.m. Kyle McClellan (0-0, 4.50) vs. Homer Bailey (0-0, 6.75)

Sunday, 2:00 p.m. Justin Brown (0-1, 162.00) vs. Ramon Ramirez (0-0, 4.70)

Monday, 11:00 a.m. Dennis Dove (0-1, 4.24) vs. Camilo Vazquez (0-1, 6.17)

Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. Mike Parisi (1-2, 2.84) vs. Philippe Valiquette (0-1, 4.09)

UP NEXT: The Swing begin a nine-game homestand on Saturday, April 23, with the first of four games against the Dayton Dragons. Kyle McClellan (0-0, 4.50) will go to the hill against Homer Bailey (0-0, 6.75). First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

PROMOTION: Saturday will be Augustana College Day at John O'Donnell Stadium, a day for Augustana College to show appreciation for its students, faculty and alumni. In addition, it will be the third Swing into Reading Day of the season, with several hundred area children on-hand to celebrate their successful completion of the program. Tickets are available to all Swing home games by calling (563) 328-2000.
