JUPITER, FLA, March 1, 2005 – The St. Louis Cardinals today agreed to terms with 11 players on one-year contracts.
Pitchers Carmen Cali, Randy Flores, Jimmy Journell, Rhett Parrott, Evan Rust and Adam Wainwright agreed to terms, as did outfielders John Gall and Reid Gorecki and infielders Hector Luna and Scott Seabol. Yadier Molina, slated to be the Cardinals primary catcher, also agreed to a one-year deal.
All 38 players on the Cardinals 40-man roster are now currently under contract.
St. Louis begins its 2005 Grapefruit League schedule on Thursday night, when they travel to Port St. Lucie to face the New York Mets. The home opener at Roger Dean Stadium is set for Friday at 1:05 p.m. and is also against the Mets.
