Along with the various team hitting coaches, St. Louis Cardinals
minor league hitting coordinator Derrick May is putting in extra time this spring. The coaches work with batters in the cages even before the sun is up, conduct various drills in the morning, watch closely to see how the learning is being applied during the 1:00 P.M. games and following the contests, are back in the cages again in the late afternoon.
In the following exclusive interview - conducted with the crack of bats on balls in the cages in the background - May discusses how he and the hitting coaches approach their assignments as well as identifies some standout hitters in minor league spring training camp.
