REPORT: Tigers to Hire Ausmus as Manager

According to multiple reports, including from FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Tigers will hire former catcher Brad Ausmus as the next manager.

The Tigers have spent the last couple weeks identifying candidates for the team's next manager. According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports and Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 in Houston, they appear to have found their man.

The reports indicate the Tigers are poised to hire Brad Ausmus as the team's next manager. Ausmus, a long-time big league catcher and a former Tiger, has never managed in the big leagues before, but was long regarded as an intelligent player that would be a future manager.

Ausmus has never managed a big league or minor league team, but was the manager of the Israel national team.
