AAA Toledo Mud Hens
48-63, 4th in West Division
Toledo made a late charge after falling behind by six runs in Monday's game against Buffalo but the Mud Hens fell short in their comeback bid, falling to the Bisons 7-5. Jon Link fell to 0-3 after a rough start, allowing seven earned runs on eight hits in one inning of work. Danny Dorn hit his twenty-first home run on a solo shot Danny Worth drove in two runs in the lost.
AA Erie Seawolves
57-49, 2nd in Western Division
A seven-run seventh inning helped to boost Erie in Monday's series opener against Reading as the SeaWolves topped the Fightin Phils 9-1. Starting pitcher Victor Larez improved to 7-7 after earning the win, allowing one earned run on two hits over six innings. Wade Gaynor had a big night at the plate, hitting his eighth home run of the season and driving in three runs in the win.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
45-55, 5th in North Division
Lakeland went into the ninth inning with a 3-3 tie in Monday's series opener against Charlotte before the Flying Tigers gave up three runs in the top of the ninth, falling to the Stone Crabs 6-3. Jeff Ferrell earned a no decision in the start, allowing two earned runs on five hits over seven innings. Slade Smith earned his first loss of the season out of the bullpen. Steven Moya hit a two-run home run in the loss, his tenth of the season.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
51-54, 5th in Eastern Division
West Michigan fought off a late rally in Monday's game against South Bend as the Whitecaps narrowly topped the Silver Hawks 4-3. Starting pitcher Edgar De La Rosa improved his record to 6-4 in the win, allowing one earned run on five hits over six innings. Corey Knebel earned his ninth save in the win.
A Short-Season Connecticut
18-23, 4th in Stedler Division
Connecticut's pitching was dominant for the second day in a row in Monday's game against Tri-City as the Tigers shut out the ValleyCats 2-0. Alex Phillips improved to 2-0 after earning the win, shutting out Tri-City on six hits over six innings. Johnnie Kirkland earned his first save of the season in the win. Austin Schotts had the only RBI in the win on a 2-for-4 night at the plate.
R DSL Tigers
32-15, 1st in Dominican Summer League San Pedro de Macoris
Runs came early and often for both teams in Monday's game between the DSL Tigers and Brewers but the Tigers did just enough to earn the win, topping the Brewers 9-7. Starting pitcher Gregory Soto took the no decision after allowing three earned runs on four hits over three innings. Harold Rosario earned his second save of the season out of the bullpen and Jesus Guzman earned his seventh save. Manuel Joseph had a strong night at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a triple and two runs driven in.
R GCL Tigers
20-10, 1st in Gulf Coast League
The GCL Tigers and Braves struggled to mount any sort of offensive momentum in Monday's matchup as the two teams combined for just five hits, but the Tigers were able to get one across the plate on their way to a 1-0 win. Starting pitcher Emanuel Chavez improved to 2-2 with the win after allowing just two hits over five innings. Ricardo Ciriaco earned his twelfth save of the season in the win. Jose Zambrano drove in the lone run for the Tigers on a sacrifice.
R VSL Tigers
29-34, 4th in Venezuelan Summer League
The VSL Tigers broke a 3-3 tie by scoring two runs in the sixth inning of Monday's game against the Rays, topping the Rays 5-3. Starting pitcher Eduardo Jimenez earned a no decision after allowing two earned runs on five hits over five innings. Alfred Gutierrez improved to 2-1 after earning the win in relief and Johan Belisario earned his fourteenth save of the season. Junnell Ledezma had another big night at the plate, going 1-for-4 with a double and two runs driven in.
