Cardinals international program update

Moises Rodriguez

St. Louis Cardinals director of international operations Moises Rodriguez speaks about the end of the summer and plans for the fall and winter.

Though many eyes are on who may become the second graduate of the St. Louis Cardinals international program to become a major leaguer (first it was Eduardo Sanchez, then Oscar Taveras?), business as usual continues at the Cardinals academy in the Dominican Republic.

There, most of the over 40 aspiring major leaguers are still in their teenage years and are about as far away from St. Louis as Antarctica. Yet, the optimism of youth and the promise of fame and fortune drive these players forward.

In the following exclusive audio interview, Cardinals director of international operations Moises Rodriguez closes the book on the second half of the Dominican Summer League Cardinals season and sets up the always-busy winter ahead for the organization's international program.
