The Cardinals' fourth-round selection in the 2010 draft began the spring in major league spring training camp as a non-roster invitee. The left-handed hitter went 0-for-3 in two games before being reassigned to minor league camp on March 8.
In 2011, Stanley earned his second title in two years as he went deep 11 times and plated 66 for the Midwest League champions in Quad Cities. He was an All-Star catcher both in the Appalachian League in 2010 and the Midwest League last season.
Stanley was likely slated to open the season as the starting catcher at A-Advanced Palm Beach, but now will have to wait until June to make his official 2012 debut.
One other Cardinals farmhand is currently suspended under the program. Batavia outfielder Reggie Williams will also be sitting out the first 50 games of the 2012 season after his failed test (also for Methylhexaneamine) was announced in November.
