Better yet, the prime beneficiary of Legends Camp is Hire Heroes USA, an organization that provides job preparedness and placement transition assistance to returning armed services personnel.
21 former Cardinals came together with the campers for five days, including three Hall of Famers – Ozzie Smith, Bruce Sutter and Lou Brock. Other ex-Cardinals participating were John Tudor, Todd Worrell, Tito Landrum, Danny Cox, Tom Pagnozzi, Gary Bennett, Danny Sheaffer, Dave LaPoint, John Costello, John Mabry, Bob Tewksbury, Jason Simontacchi, Cal Eldred, Brian Jordan, Tom Lawless, Mike LaValliere, Scott Terry and Camp Commissioner and FOX Sports Midwest broadcaster Ricky Horton.
In a tribute to their late teammate Bob Forsch, who passed away in November, all of the ex-Cardinals pitchers at Legends Camp wore the number 31.
Juan Dorado of the Palm Beach Cardinals was on-site and was kind enough to share the following camp photos.
