The St. Louis Cardinals have made a strong showing, placing four players on the 2012 list, including three in the top 35 nationally. The players are Shelby Miller at number six, Carlos Martinez at 19, Oscar Taveras at 35 and Tyrell Jenkins at 92. All are right-handed pitchers with the exception of Taveras, an outfielder. Miller and Jenkins are Texans while the other two hail from the Dominican Republic.
The national top five, just ahead of Miller, are Tampa Bay pitcher Matt Moore, Angels outfielder Mike Trout, Washington outfielder Bryce Harper, Braves hurler Julio Teheran and Yankees catcher Jesus Montero.
