Inactive Quad Cities relief pitcher Hector Corpas was charged with three misdemeanors after his Saturday morning arrest.

The Quad Cities River Bandits’ path toward their ultimate goal of a Midwest League title took a brief detour overnight as pitcher Hector Corpas was arrested Saturday morning by the Davenport, IA Police.

The 21-year-old was booked into the Scott County Jail at 6:31 A.M., and charged with three misdemeanors – assault with injury, false imprisonment and obstruction of emergency communications.

Corpas, a native of Panama, was released on $1,000 bond at 7:00 A.M. Saturday. Organization officials were not immediately available for comment.

The reliever has been on the River Bandits’ disabled list several times this season due to a biceps injury. Corpas’ most recent stint began on August 24 after his last appearance the previous night. The right-hander was not on Quad Cities’ first-round playoff roster.

Corpas has a 7.20 ERA in 30 appearances out of the Bandits bullpen this season, his fifth in the system. He joined the St. Louis Cardinals organization as a free agent in May 2007.

Quad Cities swept Clinton in the first round of the Midwest League playoffs and is set to begin round two at Kane County on Saturday night.
