Friday's Player of the Day: Shelby Miller

Pete Kozma returns with home run but Memphis loses second straight. Shelby Miller strikes out five over six and doubles in one run in Springfield's second consecutive win. Xavier Scruggs homers and knocks in two in a close loss for Palm Beach. Quad Cities held to two hits and no runs in defeat. DSL postponed again.

Individual Highlights:

Andrew Brown 1-for-3 with one walk.

Freddie Bynum 1-for-4 with one double, one run, one strikeout, one fielding error, and assisted in one double play.

Pete Kozma 2-for-4 with one double, one home run, one RBI, one run, and assisted in one double play.

Donovan Solano 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Nick Additon started and pitched six innings.  He allowed five hits, three runs (two earned), two home runs, three walks, and struck five out for the losing decision (1-2).  0-for-2 with two strikeouts at the plate. (p-s:98-62)(g/f:6-6)

Pete Parise entered in the seventh and pitched one inning.  He allowed no hits or runs, and two walks (one intentional). (p-s:17-9)(g/f:3-1)

Jess Todd entered in the eighth and pitched two innings.  He allowed one hit, no runs, and struck two out. (p-s:29-18)(g/f:2-2)

 

Rough Outing:
